Paw-licies
(or Policies for those with opposable thumbs)
Aggressive Pets:
Puppy's Breath does not bathe or clip aggressive
CATS. However, dogs who have been labeled 'aggressive' or
problematic by their owners may be able to be groomed safely using
gentle handling techniques and lots of praise. We will gladly
assess a pet who has been previously deemed 'not groomable'.
If the dog lives outside most of the time, has limited contact with
humans, suffers from an illness and/or is otherwise poorly
socialized, they may not receive services from Puppy's Breath.
Fleas / Ticks or other Parasites:
Currently, any pet who is suspected or confirmed of having any
parasite infestation must receive adequate treatment from their
veterinarian before booking a reservation in our home s'paw.
If possible, a house-call may be available to rid your pet of fleas
in an 'emergency'. Emergency and house-call rates will apply,
and these measures are only temporary. We recommend you have
your pet and their living space adequately treated. If a pet
arrives for a grooming appointment at our Home S'paw and fleas are
found on the pet, they will be sent home before any grooming has
begun. We reserve the right to charge at least a partial
amount of the appointment cost to recoup expenses from the 'lost
appointment'.
Missed Appointments - No Shows / No Calls:
We charge a $35 missed appointment fee for reservations that were
cancelled without adequate notice (48 hours minimum) or were 'no
show, no call' status. Working one-on-one providing exclusive
appointments, it is an extreme loss of revenue when even one pet does
not show for their appointment. Without adequate notice, the
appointment spot may not be filled and result in an unnecessary loss
of income. This fee may be waived at our discretion.
Customers who no show for an appointment will be required to pre-pay
for any future reservations.
Vaccinations:
How many shots your pet requires to maintain a healthy life is very
much a controversial topic in the pet industry. At Puppy's
Breath, we are not the vaccine police, although we do encourage you
to speak with your veterinarian about vaccines, what is required by
law, and also to maintain yearly check-ups to keep your pets in
their best health throughout their lifetime. We do not require
proof of current vaccinations for your pet, however please be
advised that if the stylist suffers bite wounds from your pet, proof
of current rabies vaccination will be required and a report will be
filed with Animal Control.
Scheduling an Appointment:
We love to meet pet owners when we're out and about and during
special events as well. Since we work out of our home, it can
be assumed by some people that we also welcome walk-ins at all hours
- This is not the case. Please show courtesy and respect for
our privacy by reserving an appointment by telephone (705-648-9399)
or
e-mail: info @ puppysbreathgrooming.com
Early Drop-Offs / Late Pick-ups:
Our home s'paw is located within our living space, and just as many
in-home business owners, we maintain a life beyond 'business' (in
our case, pampering clients pets). For this reason, we do not
accept early drop-offs unless prior arrangements have been made.
With pick-ups, please remember that we schedule to allow one pet (or
family's pets) in the s'paw at a time for everyone's comfort.
Early drop offs and late pick-ups offset the balance of our
scheduling system. You will receive a phone call to let you
know when your pet(s) is ready to go home.
Treats / Food:
We do not offer treats to your pet without consent in the event that
they may have an allergic reaction or adverse response to food
treats. They are, however, given lots of praise and belly rubs
during the grooming process. If you wish to bring treats to
your appointment, you may do so. Many pets will not accept
treats (even those they are used to having at home) during a
grooming appointment.
Pictures:
We routinely take snap-shots of the pets in our care for use on our
business website and also for our Facebook Group, "Puppy's Breath
Pet Grooming" to showcase the wonderful pets we have the pleasure of
getting to work with. If you would like your pets' pictures to
not be publicly viewed, please let us know by phone or e-mail.
(Additionally, if you have a particularly special photo of
your pet that is groomed by Puppy's Breath that you'd like the world
to see, feel free to e-mail it to us.)
